Biofabric is a hybrid artwork that explores the intimate boundary between the human body and a non-human organism. This living garment, cultivated with slime mold, acts as an embodied interface, translating the wearer's real-time heartbeat into a subtle symphony of sound and haptic vibration. The piece creates a direct, sensory feedback loop, inviting participants into a state of deep listening with their own physiology. Over time, the slime mold's growth forms a living tapestry, a collective visualization of the quiet, internal rhythms of its human collaborators. Biofabric is a meditation on inter-species empathy, proposing that the most profound connection with nature and technology is one that is felt, not merely observed.
