Biography
Yalin Wang is an artist and doctoral candidate at the Central Academy of Fine Arts whose research-based practice investigates the intersection of cultural heritage, generative AI, and embodied interaction. Her work challenges traditional modes of digital preservation by championing 'embodied re-enactment'—a method to revitalize the cultural practices and ritualistic experiences embedded within heritage.
Her work has been recognized with several awards, including the Muse Creative Award (Gold Winner, 2025), the Muse Design Award (2025), the prestigious National Scholarship, and a full academic scholarship for her postgraduate and doctoral studies. Her projects have been exhibited at prominent venues including the CAFA Art Museum (2023, 2020), Beijing's 798 Art District (2021), and the 751 International Design Festival (2021).
Wang is an active contributor to the academic discourse on design research and the role of emerging technologies in contemporary art. She has presented her research at international conferences such as Cumulus (2023), and national forums including the 17th Doctoral Forum for Design Studies (2024). She was also a core organizer for the 'Future of Design Research: A Dialogue Between Architecture and Design Studies' series (2024) and a speaker at the Youth Scholar Forum on Case-Based Design Research (2024).
